The exhibition focussed at interactive works on the brink of sculptureand performance art.
Shrines, murals and rituals came vibrantly together.
After Frank and Robbert graduated with a master's degree in visual arts from KASK (Ghent, 2012) they have chosen to go through life as the artist duo Robbert&Frank Frank&Robbert. This intense collaboration forms the basis for their artistic practice and symbolizes their vision on friendship, collectivity, interplay and knowledge sharing. Together, they realize a multidisciplinary body of works, containing objects, prints, installations, videos, actions in public places and cross-over performances on the border between arts and theater. With their works, they actively relate to the global society and formulate questions and poetical alternatives.
Besides their participation in official exhibitions and festivals, they show their works with self-initiated actions in public spaces. They see this as a strategy to reach more people, to continuously evaluate their experiments and to broaden their network.
R&F F&R often collaborate with other artists and organizations. It helps them to further embed themselves within the local and global artistic field. But more importantly they consider this relational aspect as a necessary and meaningful component of a contemporary artistic practice - allowing them to share their knowledge and to interact with others. As such, they were part of the formation of 'Port Actif', a collective for video art which organized screenings and workshops in an international context, and since 2018 'Wall, Shippers & Golding', a collective where artists, designers and young financial, legal and productional experts share knowledge on self-organization and sustainability.
