Blooming in the Backroom

" Fred & Ferry's space inspired me to imagine a house with a living room downstairs and a bedroom upstairs - places where different worlds come together.

In the living room, people talk about the day, about work and serious things. Upstairs, in the bedroom, people play, sleep and dream. That made me think back to my own childhood - to my dreams of becoming a circus performer or a theater artist, and to moments when fantasy clashed with reality. Like the disappointment when the tooth fairy didn't show up, and I slowly realized I had to leave the upstairs."

Blooming in the Backroom is about that transition: from childhood to adulthood, from imagination to reality. About nostalgia, femininity and transformation.
