Facing Fabrics: Contemporary textile exhibition

"Facing Fabrics"

Contemporary textile exhibition

on the occasion of the biennial Textile Festival Ronse

Info: https://www.ronse.be/nl/nieuws/facing-fabrics

Saturday 14 September to Sunday 13 October

This exhibition, as for every edition, looks for the different trends within the critical textile arts and shows work by both young emerging artists and established names.

The carriers of the works shown are not limited to textile material, but also work is done interdisciplinary and 'interformally' on the basis of an intuitive association, a mental connection ... that encourages reflection on the role, value and meaning of textiles in society.

The thousand-year existence of textiles touches us deeply, precisely because textiles are closely linked to our existence. In this way, textiles are also always about the transfer of values, stories and about the connection between people and in relation to society.

Facing Fabrics aims to be a multi-layered exhibition that raises issues such as gender, activism, decolonization, feminism, migration ... and that aims to give the viewer a broader view of textiles.
