RITUAL OPENING WITH R&F F&R
Sunday, 22 February at 3 p.m. (until 6 p.m.)
Ter Dilft
Sint-Amandsesteenweg 41-43, Bornem
In February, Robbert&Frank Frank&Robbert will open their new solo exhibition Well*Ness in Ter Dilft, Bornem.
Well*Ness plays with double meanings. “Wellness” evokes relaxation and tranquillity, while “well” (source) and “ness” (lake) refer to two recent journeys.
-
Well stands for Finland: frozen landscapes, snow, silence and art on mountain tops.
-
Ness refers to Snowdonia and North Wales: rugged nature, lakes, Neolithic sites and dolmens.
"We walked through stone circles, lakes and plateaus and made site-specific interventions in which we explored cycles, repetition and time.
We connect these actions with Bornem itself, which once developed as a pile dwelling village in a marshy, water-rich environment. The land still bears traces of this fluidity.
Water, travel, rituals and objects flow together in the total installation of this exhibition."
